Days 1 – 3: Ubud

Everything begins in Ubud. Here, you find yourself immersed in nature, in the heart of tranquility. I recommend starting your day early with a traditional melukat purification ritual at Taman Beji Griya. This sacred experience helps cleanse both body and soul. Arriving early allows you to enjoy the serene atmosphere before the crowds arrive.

I recommend starting your day early with a traditional melukat purification ritual at Taman Beji Griya. This sacred experience helps cleanse both body and soul. Arriving early allows you to enjoy the serene atmosphere before the crowds arrive.

Be sure to visit the famous Monkey Forest, where playful monkeys roam freely in a lush, sacred forest. In the town center, you’ll find art galleries and boutique shops perfect for leisurely wandering.

For lunch, I love Kebun Bistro and Simply Social. For vegan or lighter options, Clean Cafe is one of my favorites; it’s so peaceful that it’s worth visiting even just for a drink. Dinner at Sayan House, while watching the sunset, is a truly magical experience.

On Ubud’s culinary scene, Mozaic Fine Dining and Locavore are must-visits for world-class fine dining. For something quirky and fun, try Merlin’s Restaurant, where your meal is guided by a tarot card reading.

Morning yoga at The Yoga Barn or Alchemy Yoga is highly recommended, and for an indulgent spa experience, head to K Club. Don’t miss sound healing at Pyramids of Chi, letting music heal your spirit is powerful.

For Nature & Adventure Lovers:

Ubud also caters to adventurers. Watching the sunrise from Mount Batur after a pre-dawn hike is an unforgettable experience. The Tegallalang Rice Terraces are ideal for scenic walks and stunning photography. At Alas Harum, enjoy the iconic jungle swing, taste luwak coffee, and relax in natural pools.

For wildlife encounters, visit Bali Elephant Park nearby. If you love temples, explore Tirta Empul and Goa Gajah. Don’t miss Besakih, Bali’s most important temple, and Tapsai; a place where spirituality and nature come together.

Days 4 – 6: Nusa Penida

From Ubud, take a one-hour drive to Sanur Port, then a 45-minute fast boat to Nusa Penida. This island offers peaceful, untouched beaches and stunning viewpoints.

For diving enthusiasts, Nusa Penida is paradise. Manta Point is famous for snorkeling and diving with manta rays, and the coral reefs here are incredible.

Must-see spots include the iconic Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach, and Angel’s Billabong. For meals, Amok Sunset and Secret Penida Café are great choices. For a comfortable stay, consider Semaya Beach Resort, Maua Nusa Penida, or Pramana Natura.

Days 7 – 9: Gili Islands

Return to Sanur and take a 2–2.5 hour fast boat to Gili Trawangan. This lively island is perfect for clear water swims and nightlife.

Explore Gili T by bicycle, as there are no cars or motorbikes. In the evenings, enjoy live music at Tîr Na Nóg or Sama Sama Bar. For a quieter vibe, hop over to Gili Air (15-20 min by boat). There, you can relax in a hammock or sip coffee by the sea.

For accommodation, Pelangi Cottages on Gili Air offers cozy hospitality and great food. The islands are also known for snorkeling and diving, swim with turtles and explore colorful coral reefs.

Days 10 – 12: Uluwatu

From Padangbai, take a 2.5 hour car ride to Uluwatu, famous for its dramatic cliffs. Visit Uluwatu Temple for stunning views, especially at sunset. The traditional Kecak Dance is popular here, though it’s more of a tourist highlight than a personal favorite.

The beaches are unforgettable. Padang Padang, Thomas Beach, and Suluban Beach offer sun, surf, and serene vibes. For sunset views, visit Single Fin Bali. For nightlife, Savaya Bali hosts world-renowned DJs and unforgettable events.

Stay at Gravity Eco Boutique Hotel for a nature-rich experience or indulge in luxury at The Edge or Six Senses Uluwatu.

Days 13 – 15: Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta & Jimbaran

Wrap up your trip with a mix of laid-back and lively. Transfer to Canggu and explore its creative streets. Grab lunch at Crate Cafe, one of my personal favorites, then visit the sea-facing Tanah Lot Temple. End your evening with dinner at Bella Canggu, led by a talented Turkish chef.

For accommodation, The Oberoi Seminyak or Alila Seminyak are top picks for comfort and convenience. Boutique lovers can consider Maja Canggu or Belajar Bali.

Take long beach walks, shop in stylish Seminyak boutiques, and sip coffee at Bread Yard. Lunch at Finns Beach Club offers the perfect atmosphere for your final days.

Dining favorites in the area include Mamasan Bali, KU DE TA, Mexicola, Sardine, Uma Garden, and vegan-friendly KYND Community. For nightlife, check out KU DE TA, Mexicola, and the boho-style La Favela. For a final sunset, head to Rock Bar in Jimbaran; the views and cocktails make for a perfect goodbye.

Bali’s Food & Accommodation

Bali constantly evolves, offering a wide range of culinary experiences. While I enjoy exploring new spots, I often cook at home, embracing the peace Bali gives me.

Accommodation options are endless. Whether you prefer boutique stays or luxury resorts, Bali has something for every traveler.
