Auckland City Tour
After breakfast, we set off to explore New Zealand’s largest city. Our tour will include Auckland Domain Park, Sky Tower, Auckland Art Gallery, the Botanic Gardens, Stardome Observatory, Mount Eden, and the Hauraki Gulf area. In the afternoon, we will stroll along the famous Queen Street, enjoy the view of Auckland from Devonport, and take advantage of shopping opportunities. Return to the hotel in the evening. After breakfast on board, we head out for a fantastic day. We visit Hobbiton, the real set from The Lord of the Rings films, where you will take photos in front of Bilbo Baggins’ Hobbit Hole and immerse yourself in the magical world of the film. Then, we embark on an adventure in a traditional war canoe and visit a Marae (Maori meeting house), learning about Maori culture and traditions. We’ll admire a traditional Maori Waka Taua War Canoe, learn paddling techniques and chants, and cruise Lake Rotoiti. You’ll also hear the story of the great Maori explorer Ihenga, whose descendants still live in Rotorua today. We will visit historic sites important to Maori culture. In the evening, return to the ship and enjoy the amenities of the Celebrity Edge. Overnight on board.
Napier Seawalls, Bluff Hill & Cape Kidnappers
After lunch, we dock in Napier, famous for its Art Deco architecture rebuilt after the devastating 1931 earthquake. We explore the Napier Seawalls street art district, visit a winery and local vineyards in Hawke’s Bay, and enjoy panoramic views from Bluff Hill or visit Cape Kidnappers, home to the world’s largest gannet colony. Blenheim & Picton Tour
After docking, we travel by steam train to Blenheim. The train, named Passchendaele after the famous battle, consists of WWI-era carriages. We climb the steep slopes of New Zealand by train, enjoying breathtaking views. In Blenheim, we’ll explore local shops, savor coffee, and dine at a gourmet restaurant. After a walk along the river, we return by train to Picton with free time to explore before departing at 19:00. Overnight on board.
